CONSULTATION

Collaborating on a session is a really fun experience. I want you to feel relaxed and happy and ensure you have a clear idea of what you want and what to expect from your session.

• Pre-consultation. When you book with me, confirming your choice of date and desired collection, you will receive access to my Client Area. This is full of information and inspiration, including a location guide, styling and tips to help you prepare for a fun photo session.

 • Location. It's all about location! This can be at your home or yard/stables or perhaps there is somewhere you would like to travel to? Think about the backdrops, the light that will be available and how your horse will react to the setting.

 • Style. Natural outdoor images with a mix of fine art portraits, we can include black/white backgrounds and lighting (subject to setting). You can opt for in hand, mounted or potentialy include family and other four legged friends.

 • Outfits. What do you feel great in? Gather your favourite outfits and accessories to team together. Choose colours that will stand out next to your horse’s colouring and from the location backdrop.

 • Team. I encourage you to bring an extra pair of hands to your session to help with posing, styling and catching the attention of your horse.

COLLABORATION

Time for the fun to begin! We will have time for a catch up and the opportunity to get acquainted with your horse/s before your portait session gets underway.

• Final Prep. Pamper yourself and your horse/s before I arrive so that we don't lose any of our shoot time shining up coats or painting hooves and nails. Ensure their bridle and headcollar are nice and clean along with any yard space we are using.

• On Location. We will allow enough time to get from your yard to shooting location, or if further afield I can arrange to meet you there. I like to capture a nice variety of images for my clients so I will look at different backdrops, angles and set ups during the session.

• Mishaps. One question I frequently get asked is “what if my horse doesn’t behave?” I have one horse who absolutely knows when the camera is on him, stands 19h with pricked ears, whilst my mare will demolish the set and try to eat the studio frame! I work around your horse. He or she will let me know when they are ready and failing that we have bribery! The important thing is not to worry.

• Weather. Mother Nature doesn't always comply and the safety of you and your horse is paramount at all times. If it is not going to be possible to carry out our photo session then we will reschedule for a mutually convenient time.
